Andy: 150 miles of paved driving, and 38 miles of w-a-a-a-a-sh-sh-sh-b-b-b-o-o-o-a-a-a-r-d miles later and we're at the City of Rocks, Idaho. Note to self: Idaho takes better care of their dirt roads than Utah. There's much stuff to vibrate on these roads in our van, so I just hope everything stayed connected... no propane hoses leaking flammable gas into our bedroom or anything fun like that. Maybe we should install No Smoking signs. Quick setup of camp and then we're off on our first climb. "Delay of Game, 5.8 **". Entertaining, though Wendy's still not 100% so we call it a day after that. For her it was sort of... on belay... spit....climb.. cough....step... hack... cough... climb... but she is getting better (i.e. she is now semiconscious rather than unconscious). Parents - don't worry - she's getting better.
Place is real quiet. Very nice.
Wendy: We had time to ponder some interesting things....can cows have ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; appears not, if you watch them from the road)? How do they grow hay in the desert? And most importantly, will this dirt road ever lead anywhere? Let's just say we are still figuring out the food scene. Andy failed to buy any rice or pasta on his grocery run, so we have lots of veggies and sauce, but no "grains" for dinner. We're getting creative, stir fried veggies and shrimp on bagels...hopefully it won't taste as bad as it sounds. At least they're sesame, and not blueberry. We gotta remember, we have it good :)
