Andy: Climbed "Cruel Shoes 5.7 **" today. Good name since our feet aren't used to being crammed into concubinesque climbing shoes. Nice four mile roundtrip hike through the desert to get to the route. Does 60 bolts on 3 pitches of easy climbing sound overbolted to you? They even bolted the last 40 feet of 3rd class slab to the top! I think some teenager from Pocatello was trying out his new bosch when they put up the route. But a worthwhile scenic cruise nonetheless. And we ran up Just Say Go (5.9 ***) right before sunset. Wendy didn't even leave that much green goo on the rock this time. Improvement.
On a different note, getting lonely on this trip isn't going to be a problem - we've got lots of flies to keep us company. They enjoy hanging out inside the van just as much as we do. And Wendy enjoys watching me attempt to kill them without the proper tools (i.e. no newspaper, fly swatter, or sticky-fly-killing-stuff). There'll be some 6-legged-genocide after our next food stop..
