October 1st - Sportsmobile Factory and then to Ventura

Andy:  Craig and Tanya have a new baby girl, so we're off to Ventura to visit (and do laundry....) for the evening.  We needed to get some repairs done on the van, so we stopped at the mothership -- Sportsmobile!  Wendy hasn't been yet, so she proceeded to wander around asking me why our van doesn't have this, or that, or this, or that (she wasn't involved with the design process).  Maybe visiting the factory was a bad idea.  Once in Ventura, Craig and I embarked on a marathon foosball tournament.  My wrists are still wounded.

Wendy:  Our Sprint PCS card allows us to use the internet wherever we have Sprint cell phone access.  This means that I was able to read and write email while sitting in traffic along highway 99.  I think Andy was envious, made clear by the fact that he asked me to check his email oh, say, 399 times in the course of our 4 hour drive.

We arrived in Ventura late afternoon, and needing to kill time before Craig and Tanya were home from work, we embarked on a journey to the Patagonia outlet.  Not like we have room for more gear in the van, but we both wanted to go, and $200 later we were off to Craig and T's house (some of the money was spent on two adorable fleece sweatshirts for little 3 month old Ainsley; could not resist their little tiny size).  We had dinner and hung out with our buds, and then it was time to feed Ainsley!  Tanya set me up, and I held Ainsley while she ate an amazing 6 ounces from her bottle! (she's tiny).  My brother called during the feeding, and Andy kindly told him I was nursing and couldn't come to the phone.  I surrendered the baby to Tanya when it was time for the burping...there's just some things I'm not yet ready to do.  All in all a most fun rest day, spent with some very good but not seen often enough friends.

At the Patagonia outlet hung a 10x12 foot photo of someone slack lining the Lost Arrow Spire.  We took a picture of it to remind ourselves of what is left to do in the world.
