Wendy: Andy is freaking out about climbing Epinephrine (a very long climb) tomorrow with JT, and has convinced himself he needs a rest day to "mentally prepare" for the big climb. Jon, however, mutant freak, needs no sleep, food or rest and is ready to climb today, and climb hard. We decide on a day of sport climbing at the gallery, a wall of 15 climbs with a big boulder to sit and watch from. The climbs range from easy to hard, and by hard I mean very very hard. We started on the left side of the gallery and ticked off the climbs in numerical order, starting easy and working our way up. I ended at the 10c/d pitch, which I climbed easily but then decided not to hurt myself by going higher. Jon, however, proceeded on to Yak crack (11c/d), and then made the ultimate request...could we go around the corner and climb Fear and Loathing, a 12a heinously overhung full pitch. I was so excited to watch him, as he cruised the climb, getting completely horizontal at one point. When he got to the top and sweetly asked if I wanted to follow, I laughed and said "Uh, dude, you must be nuts! No way!!" It just goes to show, I'm not a mutant freak like him! He's really cool for a mutant freak, though.
