Andy: Today's plan was for me to kayak the Upper Wanganui (class 4-5) with Chris, Peter, and Jeff. Wendy and Steve would meet us part of the way down and kayak the Lower Wanganui (class 3-4). Unfortunately, the water was very, very high - so kayaking the upper section would basically be a death sentence. None of us were too keen for that, so we all started at the lower put-in. A great day of big water fun, including one harder rapid with a riverwide hole at the top - a very exciting feature to punch through.
